Photo Seminar Shoot the Centerfold Takes Vegas by Storm

The sold-out “Shoot the Centerfold” workshop in Las Vegas last weekend was an incredibly successful mix of seminars, photo shoots, and networking opportunities. Models and photographers who attended this event enjoyed two full days of instruction, insight and experience that they could not get anywhere else.

Taking place at the newly-renovated Tropicana Hotel, STC drew over 150 attendees and participants. The group took over several ballrooms as well as poolside areas and Nikki Beach Club in an attempt to capture amazing photos of beautiful women.

The event kicked off with a meet-and-greet Friday, June 4 at the Ambhar Lounge in the Tropicana. Attendees got to pre-register and mix and mingle with the lovely female STC ambassadors, all the while enjoying free tequila beverages from the bar courtesy of Ambhar Tequila.

Saturday began with a series of introductions made by event organizer Jon Paulsin. The audience got to meet legendary Playboy lensmen Arny Freytag, Jarmo Pohjaniemi (OMP Member #68348) and David Mecey, each of whom shared stories from their colorful careers. Then Keynote Speaker Gary Cole took the stage to address the crowd of photographers and models. The longtime Director of Photography for Playboy Magazine offered an eloquent and informative look at the industry over the past three decades.

After lunch, the program featured eye-popping slide shows, intensive lighting demonstrations and intriguing Q and A sessions, which lasted till late in the afternoon. As if that wasn’t enough, attendees were invited to an exclusive VIP club event at Nikki Beach. Gorgeous models walked the red carpet while cameras clicked furiously in a scene that would make any Hollywood premiere pale in comparison.

Sunday was the big day, as all the photographers got to shoot with the three stunning Centerfolds — Playmates Shauna Marie McLaughlin, Ashley Hobbs and Kassie Lyn Logsdon. Each model displayed beauty, energy and wit throughout the day of shooting.

When the attendees weren’t shooting Centerfolds, they were getting professional portfolio reviews from Gary Cole and special guest Jeff Cohen, who is former executive publisher of Playboy Special Editions and godfather of Playboy Casting Calls. Former Playmate Angela Mellini was also on hand to give some excellent behind-the-scenes advice to the models and photographers.

Meanwhile, the Top Model Search was taking place outside the hotel. Model hopefuls were getting their photos taken poolside while DJ Tamera Sky played a selection of hot tunes in the deejay booth. Thousands of dollars in cash and prizes await the winners, who are also eligible to receive a one-year modeling contract with “Shoot The Centerfold.”

STC is co-sponsored by OneModelPlace.com, which gave away a Platinum Plus membership to one lucky attendee. The winner was Dr. Dan Yahnian of The Planet Dan (OMP Member #89119). Other major sponsors included Hensel Lighting, Samy’s Camera, McKenna, Chimera, Lightware and California Sunbounce.

If you missed this amazing opportunity to attend Shoot the Centerfold in Las Vegas, you will get another chance to attend in the fall, as STC will be coming back to Sin City in mid-September. Details will be announced shortly. For information on how you can register for the next STC event, visit the official Shoot the Centerfold website at www.shootthecenterfold.com.
