Traveling Photographer Shoots for Anthony’s Art World

Anthony of Anthony’s Art World (OMP Member #218679) is celebrating his third-year anniversary of being a professional photographer. He began taking it seriously after a friend and fellow OMP member saw some of Anthony’s landscape and wildlife images. “He asked me why I wasn’t shooting with models and I was like, ‘I am not sure!” So I joined OMP and it’s been a wonderful ride since then.” has helped the Alabama resident and frequent traveler in many ways. “OMP has helped me tremendously, especially being able to promote my trips through the use of travel notices. It is an outstanding source for finding models and photographers who are interested in furthering their careers. The publicity I get from OMP far surpasses the publicity I get from any other site.”

His favorite styles of shooting are portraits and headshots. “But I am striving to be able to do a little bit of everything. I want to be able to say, ‘Yes I can do this,’ if a client comes asking for a specific style. It would be great to show them some of my work in a variety of styles.”

As for his preference of shooting indoors or outdoors, Anthony admits that’s a hard question to answer. “I really enjoy the outdoors, but I also love the fact I can control all aspects of the lighting on studio shoots. So indoor shoots may have an edge in that department.”

Traveling for his day job allows Anthony to have the best of both worlds. “I get paid as a commercial truck driver to travel the U.S. At the same time, I can perfect my skills as a photographer and offer the models who can’t travel the chance to shoot together. I am proud to say that I now have a complete portable setup for indoors or outdoors. What more can you ask for?”

The Canon shooter also stocked up on state-of-the-art equipment for his rolling studio. “I recently added some more glass to my collection. I also have some Alien bee lights with soft boxes, a 48-inch octabox, a couple of slave lights for backup, portable backdrop stands, and seamless backgrounds. It all fits very compactly in my truck and is with me at all times.”

Always one to help models in their career pursuits, Anthony offers some straightforward advice that they should remember during a shoot. “Just relax, be yourself, and listen to advice or tips from your photographers.”

He also has some helpful suggestions for anyone interested in joining the OMP community. “A special thanks to the staff at for their support and advice, they have helped me further achieve the goals I have set for myself.. It’s really nice to actually be able to pick up the phone and call OMP and get a live body on the other end who is trained, willing and eager to provide the tools and advice you need to succeed as a model or photographer. I learned a long time ago you only get out of something what your willing to put into it. Work hard at achieving your goals, and with OMP backing you the sky is the limit!”
