It has been confirmed that Miss California Carrie Prejean — who created controversy with her views on same-sex marriage and semi-nude photos since losing the Miss USA crown — has been dethroned for “contract violations” including missing scheduled pageant events, according to a state pageant official.
Pageant owner Donald Trump gave Prejean the “You’re Fired!” announcement today, one month after she received a second chance to keep her title. Trump related, “Carrie is a beautiful young woman, and I wish her well as she pursues her other interest.”
Runner-up Tami Farrell will assume the title immediately, according to state pageant Executive Director Keith Lewis. “This was a decision based solely on contract violations, including Ms. Prejean’s unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization,” said Lewis.
